Unfortunately you can't take pictures inside. I think it's a fire hazard like not using your cellphone at a gas pump. It's a one in a million thing but if you've ever seen the Kentucky bourbon fires you will know why. Being on of the larger houses this is all about consistency. They blend hundreds of barrels together to make sure it always tastes the same.
We have lunch at a local place.
This is the courtyard. They have a hotel as well here.
The chicken is outstanding. We try some local sweet wine as well. Not really our cup of tea but with the right food it would be enjoyable. The creme brûlée is good but the top isn't solid. It's still liquid which is interesting to me since I'm used to putting sugar on top then browning it. How do you get liquid carmel on top?
We take a short tour of the town but being Monday most of the town is closed.
The old gate is here but the original bridge across the river is gone.
We visit a church and can see the renovations over time. Adding stain glass etc. The new bridge.
From the inside.
Time to head back and take another nap. The magic bus does its trick. Ugh, time to pack up. Our life of luxury is closing fast. The boat starts back to Boudreaux. Our final dinner on board. I won't blog it but ask Aparna about our dinner conversation that night with the other two couples.
